Starting on the 5th May, the first Sunday of every month at St. Michael's Otterton at 11am. will be a non-Eucharistic service of the word. This will be led by the church warden John Archibald. John has great experience and has a ministry that is much appreciated.
The two performances on 30 March proved that it has!
From a brass fanfare through a horn quartet, guitarists, singers, pianists, handbells, poetry and more besides, the audience was well entertained. Read the full story here and see photos of some of the performers here.
The Friends of All Saints are pleased to announce that the event raised over £550.
Stephen Tanner came to interview on Monday and he and the interview panel agreed that this seems to be the right thing at the right time for both parties. Stephen will take his first choir practice this Friday evening and is also available to play for us this Sunday morning. A man of huge experience, being assistant organist at Exeter Cathedral, and Director of music at Exeter cathedral school (he taught Chris Martin of Coldplay fame), he directs choirs with an international reputation. “Isca voices” have performed both at Notre Dame in Paris and St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. We are happy to welcome Stephen to the Raleigh Mission community.
The Diocese of Exeter will have an allocated area at the festival, and you are very welcome to join in - see here for details of the event and how to book.
Revd Barry Dugmore and Revd Nathan Kiyaga (Chaplain at St Cuthbert Mayne School Torquay) will be your hosts. They will have a little hospitality area and will lead morning worship / prayer for those who’d like to gather as a group each day, but please note they will not be cooking! But there will be a space to gather and bring drinks and food in the camping location
There are lots of food and refreshment providers on site, or it’s cook your own!
On Sunday 13th January the RMC held a special service and celebratory farewell lunch for James, who has retired after just over 4 years as Church, Schools and Families Coordinator. He has been involved in so many things, including Open the Book, the Youth Group, visiting schools and leading services, and will be much missed.
