Starting on the 5th May, the first Sunday of every month at St. Michael's Otterton at 11am. will be a non-Eucharistic service of the word. This will be led by the church warden John Archibald. John has great experience and has a ministry that is much appreciated. 

The two performances on 30 March proved that it has!

From a brass fanfare through a horn quartet, guitarists, singers, pianists, handbells, poetry and more besides, the audience was well entertained.  Read the full story here and see photos of some of the performers here.

The Friends of All Saints are pleased to announce that the event raised over £550.

Stephen Tanner came to interview on Monday and he and the interview panel agreed that this seems to be the right thing at the right time for both parties. Stephen will take his first choir practice this Friday evening and is also available to play for us this Sunday morning. A man of huge experience, being assistant organist at Exeter Cathedral, and Director of music at Exeter cathedral school  (he taught Chris Martin of Coldplay fame), he directs choirs with an international reputation. “Isca voices” have performed both at Notre Dame in Paris and St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. We are happy to welcome Stephen to the Raleigh Mission community.

On Sunday 13th January the RMC held a special service and celebratory farewell lunch for James, who has retired after just over 4 years as Church, Schools and Families Coordinator.  He has been involved in so many things, including Open the Book, the Youth Group, visiting schools and leading services, and will be much missed.

Over 100 people came to Chris Teuten's 13th and last Devon Voices Christmas Concert in the Church on Friday 7th December.
Chris presented the Friends of All Saints Church with £1,000  from the ticket sales.
After an outstanding concert with amusing readings and wonderful singers obviously enjoying themselves, the Friends presented Sue and Chris Teuten with a commissioned, artistic impression of one of the Church windows to thank them for all their work over the years.
Paul Evans from the Choir reminisced about his long association with Chris and then made presentations to Sue and Chris.
At an audience member's suggestion, we had a retiring collection which raised £203.65 - much needed for the repair work to the North Aisle ceiling.

All Saints Church has recently hosted two successful events.  On 1st November about 80 people enjoyed Ian Blackwell's talk "East Budleigh in The Great War - those who served", and raised over £300 for the Friends of All Saints Church.

On Saturday 3rd November, the finale to the Sir Walter Raleigh 400 year commemorations came in the shape of "Sharp Medicine", a wonderful concert of the poetry of Sir Walter set to music.  The audience were entertained by the two talented musicians from Leeds, Peter Spafford on keyboards and David Bowie Junior on double bass, following which they gave us an opportunity for an informal discussion on Sir Walter and his life.
